Nothingness Ramblings

Now... I didn't have anything to say today, really. So I wasn't going to post anything... really.

Then, I thought to myself, when you have nothing to say - what do you do?

You ramble!

Ramble on about nothing and anything, and find out what comes out of your fingertips and onto the keyboard. It is interesting, in it's own way, to see some text devolop on screen while you are barely aware of what you are writing, and where this is headed... so bare with me - this might be a strange and uninteresting read.

KEYS: I'm gonna have to go back to my old/sorta current job tomorrow and hand in the keys that I still carry. They called me the other day and wanted me to bring them in, after which I told them I do not give my keys away until I sign the papers that say I've done so... if some other moron loses the keys, I'm not going to be held responsible. So, that'll be done tomorrow - then there is only two more weeks that the place will pay me, so I better get my ass out of this chair and start looking seriously for some jobs.

THE GYM: Still going there as much as I can - just got home after a third straight day. Did some work on my back and the triceps today... my legs are still hurting from Tuesday's session. I had been neglecting the legs for a while, and sort of decided to work them extra hard - to get back on track with them... boy did I suffer yesterday for that one! Love it!

RANDOMNESS: Did you all know that I have a thing for randomness? Well, I may have created a little something that most people are going to think is outrageously nuts - but I enjoy it immensely. See... I dabble a little in computer programming... well - that's pretty much a lie. I have a piece of software which makes a little computer programming so easy a five year old could almost make their own games. A lot of drag and drop functions, but you can use code to make more complex stuff - and this is what I dabble in.

Ok, ok, already! What is this crazy thing you have done?

I have made a little program which randomizes a weekly menu for me. Yes, a weekly menu of what I shall serve myself for dinner each day. I can easily add all my leftovers stashed in the freezer (and I have a lot of food in there - I always make 3-4 servings, eat one and freeze the rest). I can also add into the mix some new recipes that I want to try out, a bunch of dinners that I often make... then - at the click of a button, a menu pops up, and I go with it for the entire week. Not only does it save me from thinking about what I should eat each day, it also makes sure that I eat those leftovers in the freezer.

I started this little project this week.

I am pretty sure this makes me the only person on the planet who has a randomized weekly menu...

And you guys thought I had an ounce of sanity? No, sir. I'm as looney as they come!

And... at risk of sounding conceited or pompous - well, I've been given yet another award. My favorite little Single Girl in the City bestowed me with the "Gratitude with an Attitude" Award... how sweet is that?

Now, I'm going to pass this baby along - but I'll get back to you on that one, because today I'm not really functioning as well as I like to when deciding who gets an award and who doesn't (this time). So keep your eyes peeled for when I announce the "winners" of this particular one.

In the meantime - if you haven't checked her out (I sure have!). Go visit Single In The City and marvel in her fun posts, and her wonderful persona. She's well worth a visit... or even a little bit of a stalking - just don't scare her... because then I'll have to come after you, and it's not going to be pretty... LOL!

BLOGGING: I haven't been the best of bloggie friend of late. I'm not able to make my rounds to you all and comment like I used to. Part of that is that I've been spending more time out of the house (shocking, eh?), at the gym and out with some of my friends. Part of that is lack of inspiration for blogging of late. I'm sure I'll get back to my usual self in that respect soon enough. Just, you know, if you don't see me at your place for a couple of days or so - it doesn't mean I don't love you anymore.

I still love y'all!

PFC: Oh! Almost forgot! It's about time I remind you all of the Picture Fiction Challenge! It is due next Wednesday... the 16th! I hope you all are finishing up, or touching up, your contributions! It looks like it will be an interesting one this month!

Better Than Butter

To begin with... I'll offer my sincere apologies to Tink of Pickled Beef, and everyone else who expected a little WWC play from me yesterday.

I was going to take my camera out yesterday morning and get some pics, but my head was blank. Couldn't come up with a damn thing that was either Rough or Smooth - one of those days when the brain cells have obviously decided that "today is a good day for closing down shop". On top of that, I wasn't home last night to even put up an apologetic post. I will hopefully make up for this terrible behavior next week - and I'll even try to come up with some shots for ROUGH and SMOOTH. Next week, I promise to be back in the action, when we play with the words CLOSE-UP and BACKGROUND.

I am such a pathetic loser!

Yet, I've been handed a couple more awards, and I thought I'd announce them today (how do you like that combo for today's post?).

First up, Jo of Whatever... spent some 8 hours or so in the kitchen, carefully sculpting a chunk of butter into the shape of a heart, and set up some beautiful lighting to take a picture of it. Then she ran it through some photoshopping to add the words "BETTER THAN BUTTER", and handed out this beautiful award to some people. She also explained why she thought we deserved this awesome award:

"REH is a bundle of complex goodies--romanticism, grit, domesticity, creativity that often leans towards the dark, a personality that inspires laughter, loyalty, empathy. It's very special the way these contrasts come together in him & make sense. He shares his life courageously, and isn't afraid to dig deeper."

I loved those words... I think I may have choked up a little there, reading that! Thanks Jo! I am honored!

Then, Freakazojd over at Freakazojd's Palace also decided to bestow me with the coveted E! for Excellent award. That makes it a total of three times I've been awarded this one - and you all should know, by now, that my lucky number is 3! That's just fantastic!

Take a look over at the sidebar to see my Trophy Case, where these awards are now proudly presented for the world to see.

Gotcha Fooled, Did I?

Gotcha fooled, did I?

Yeah, yesterday was April 1st - commonly known as April Fool's Day. That is the day of the year on which we have all agreed it is fully acceptable to lie... or rather make other people look foolish. And, I am no better of a man than to feel I have to take that opportunity.

So, just in case y'all still thought that I would have limited access to the internet in the near future... you've been had! Seriously... I don't think anyone is quite so gullible that you bought that one - but, still; Better safe than sorry!

Well, I don't have time for a real post today... but I thought I'd announce my April Fool's Joke to avoid any confusion... and Hey! One more thing!

Dianne over at Forks Off The Moment gave me this award... so this one too comes from two different bloggers. I've added Dianne's name underneath the award in my Trophy Case, so no one can ever forget who gave it to me.

Thanks, Dianne! I certainly appreciate it!

In the meantime... feast your eyes on my WWC post from yesterday - there was no joke about that!

WWC / Excellent Award

Well, now that the Easter holiday has come to an end - let's get back to blogging a bit, shall we? And, what better way to do so than play a little Weekly Words Challenge?

As always - the booby trapping, Tink of Pickled Beef is the one to select a couple of words for us to take pictures of... and this week we got TREASURE and JUNK to play with.

I hope you all had a wonderful Easter, and that you weren't assaulted by the Easter Bunny. I hope you all got the opportunity to eat bucket loads of colorful eggs and truck loads of delicious foods. I know I did. I think I've finished up about a week's worth of food rations during the past three days. Believe me - that won't keep me from eating the rest of the week either.

And, I've been given another award! This time it is the awesome, soon-to-be famous(?), actress ~Angela~ of ~Angelaboration~ who's been kind enough to honor me with this Excellent Award!

Thank you! I will cherish this thing, and proudly display it in my Trophy Case.

I have decided on three bloggers that I will pass this thing on to. As always - so many more are deserving of it. The reason I settle for three is because I have a thing about "three's". Farmer's Wife will understand that particular obsession as she shares that one with me ;)

Cardiogirl of Cardiogirl: 19% body fat 100% fun
Writing about her struggles with depression, and her outlook on life in general - the Cardiogirl is always a very interesting read. Few bloggers I've come across are so open and honest about what they write, and you really feel like you get to take part of her daily life. That is what makes her blog Excellent!

Jo of Whatever...
Artsy and wonderfully creative. Jo offers Excellent writing, photography and interesting blog posts that always entertain. She's wonderfully warm and loving, and always puts a smile on my face. I always look forward to reading her when she updates... and she lives out in sunny California - which makes me jealous ;)

Single In The City of You Say Tomato ~ I Say Tomahto
Now here's a girl who always makes me feel good. Her innocent charmful teasing, and daily updates over at her blog is something I always look forward to. She has a way of spreading the love and the "feel good" wherever she is. And for that she is Excellent!

For those of you who didn't get an award from me this time... don't fret - You might me next!

Now, on to this weeks WWC:

Hope you enjoyed!

Tink is on vacation, but hopefully she will post her WWC today anyway - and announce the words for next week. I will update this post once she provides the words.

UPDATE: Ok, Tink has returned and the words for next week will be SHINY and ERA. That should prove interesting! Until then...

WWC / Award / PFC

Time for the Weekly Words Challenge again!

This week we are playing with the words DOMESTIC and FOREIGN, and as always it is the tire-less fix-it-all Tink of Pickled Beef who comes up with the words for us shoot pictures of.

Well, you're not going to be surprised when I say I have an announcement or two to make before I move on to the pictures... that is just the way I do this every single Tuesday.

Am I a man of habit or what? (Just a bonus pointer to some random old post of mine...)

HoosierGirl5 over at The Coffee Table has honored me with this here award. Thanks, babe. Now, I do rock - but not only that - she thinks that I'm a HUNK too! Now that is sure to warm a guys heart up, right there!

You're a BABE, darlin'!

This was actually the first award I was ever given too (back then it was Guilty Secret who gave it to me), so I've now got two names under this one in my Trophy Case.

Second of all - let me remind you that tomorrow is the deadline for the latest Picture Fiction Challenge. You still have until the 21st to post your stories if you're running a little late...

As usual (if anything can be "usual" the second time around) I'll be looking forward to reading what you all come up with for this one. I've got a feeling we'll be presented with quite different stories from those who participate.

Even if you're not into writing fiction yourself, be sure to step by and read them all... it's better than any John Grisham novel (right?)

So... without further ado I now present this weeks WWC:

There you have it. My contribution this week!

Next week, the words will be TREASURE and JUNK. Junk should be easy... I'll just have to take some pictures of my personal belongings (LOL!).

Twelve Little Bullets

  • I've got nothing lately. Nothing to blog about, nothing to say. So I present twelve little bullets today with little things that come to mind. I sure hope that my blogging inspiration returns quickly.
  • The first week of freedom/unemployment has not been spent wisely. Ok, I kind of intended to do nothing this first week, but I didn't really take advantage of nothingness either. Starting next week I'll have to get busy trying to figure out what's next...
  • Coffee shop girl seems to be no more. Been there twice this week, and she wasn't there. Well, no loss really. I think one of the reasons I was a little hot for her is that she physically reminded me of The One. They had similar looks, although no one would confuse one for the other. She didn't appear too bright, which would've been a turn off after a while.
  • The One's birthday was yesterday. And I missed it! What is wrong with me? Sent her birthday wishes today, and a virtual birthday cake on Facebook... was that the right thing to do? I'm not even sure I should put myself in a situation where heartbreak is the likely outcome... I haven't kept myself updated on her where abouts or what she's up to over there (in Asia)... I'm not sure I want to know too much.
  • I need a casual relationship. Nothing serious... just some random hot chick to have some fun with and not put that Rubicon Heart of mine at risk. I am certainly not ready to deal with heartbreak at this time... I guess coffee girl would have been a decent choice, right? But, what if the girl for some reason was to really fall for me? It would have to be a mutual decision that we are not exclusive...
  • There is this girl who works (out) at the gym I frequent. She's a short one (I have a thing for short girls... not too short, though) with a body to die for. She works out really hard, and I almost want to tell her not to overdo it - her body is simply perfect, but the way she goes at it lifting weights she may be on her way to becoming a little too muscular for my tastes. Right now she is - oh My God! I think my chances are slim, to say the least...
  • I've noticed I've started to gain weight again... I've been eating too much of the good stuff, and not enough fibre. I have to watch it so I don't become fat again. I found a picture the other day that will serve as a good reminder of what I used to look like. I should make that my desktop background so I don't forget...
  • I've still not made a decision on the Ireland trip. I really want to go, but I'm not so sure I can afford it. I mean - the money is there if I want to spend it, but I can't quite decide whether I should save it so I can move back across the pond sooner. I could still relocate, but it would be postponed to a later date... although - no date has been set. I've pretty much decided it will happen though.
  • Single In The City gave me this award a few days ago. The One In A Million Friend award. That's so sweet of her, and it touches my heart. You, my dear friend, are truly one in a million yourself. I don't think this award was meant to be passed on, as it was hers to give - so I'll just keep this one for myself! Thanks, Sweetie!

  • Because of my lack of blogging inspiration of late, I have put up a poll on the site, where you can vote for a blog topic that I should do. There are a couple of things I've been meaning to write, but the time hasn't seemed to be right. So, vote on what you want to read about... I'm not even sure any of them are that interesting.
  • The Picture Fiction Challenge is due next week. Wednesday March 19th. I've still not written my own, and I hope I will find the inspiration to do it. I'll put something together either way, but it would be nice if there was some quality to it, right? I hope you all are ready to play!
  • Finally. I'm giving you some music to listen to. I've chosen White Lion's "When The Children Cry", because that song speaks to my mindset these last few days. Yes, I've been feeling a little down, a little depressed. This is one of those ballads that really washes over you and makes you almost want to cry. It certainly is one of the best ballads of all time, in my opinion.

Saturday Ramblings

Thank you all for your well wishes, and belief that my future holds great things for me. I will be taking a few days off before I really begin to think what my immediate future should bring.

Great party last night, huh? I'm kinda hung over to be honest...

I read through what I posted yesterday, and one thing struck me. No one's commented on it, so I guess you all didn't read it like I did, but in case one or two of you thought it strange, I thought I'd clear this one up...

I wrote:

"Also, at lunch, all but one of my co-workers ambushed me in the breakroom, and presented a potted plant and a bottle of whiskey - as a farewell gift."

Now - the one co-worker who didn't ambush me was left out in the store... someone has to be at the register, or customers are liable to rob us (them!) blind, right. So it had nothing to do with not wanting to be there to present the gift to me...

Just thought you should know that.

**********

Other good news!

Casdok over at Mother of Shrek has given me an award. Apparently I am quick witted and I make her laugh... so she gave the Quick Wit Blog Award 2008. Thank You, Casdok. I will put this one in my newly rearranged Trophy Case for all to see!

I will pass this baby on to the following bloggers... although there are a lot more of you who deserve it.

Lightning Bug's Butt and Preposterous Ponderings. These two have some really Quicky Witty blog posts, and because of that they will receive this award from me. Keep me smiling, chuckling, giggling and laugh right out loud for the foreseeable future. Can you do that for me?

I knew you could!

**********

Taking a day off from everything, basically, today. No gym either. Starting tomorrow I'll be working out extra hard, in preparation for the summer. It would be nice to go to the beach this year and leave all the hot honeys wanting me... needing me... desiring me beyond control.

That's gonna happen, right? All I need is a couple of hours in the gym to make them all quiver at the sight of me... I'm gonna be hunk number one this summer for sure.

A man's gotta have a vision, you know!

**********

Leaving you all with that for today. Tomorrow is Funday Sunday, so I'll be back trying to entertain you then.

A Couple Awards...

I don't really have much to say today... just one of those days I guess.

Well, to begin with - I have recieved another award, and this time it comes from the sweet Cardiogirl. She blogs about her every day struggles in life, and is one of the most openly honest and interesting bloggers around. It means a lot to me being given an award from her. You ROCK Cardio!

This is what this award stands for - according to what Cardiogirl posted over on her blog:

The Daily Dose Award is for “all the blogs that you’ve discovered that you can’t possibly live without. They make you laugh, cry, think and feel connected every time you read a post. They give you a thrill as you see them loading into your browser and you get an equally satisfying thrill when you see that they have commented on your blog.”

Well, I've been doing some thinking as to whom I should pass this award on to - and my final decision is as follows (as usual this was a very hard process, and I'm sorry if you feel left out... it doesn't mean I don't love you!).

Emmeline at Why The Sky Is Blue...
Her ongoing series about the Sports Fan, and the history of her love life was one of the inspirations that got me started on Rubicon Heart. I love her openness and appreciate that she's decided to share that story with us all. She will always be supportive and give encouraging comments here on my blog as well.

Leighann at Pessimists Need Love Too
You never quite know what you will stumble upon when entering Leighann's corner of the blogging universe. It may be outrage, cynicism, sarcasm, nudity, vampires... and lately she even dares bleed a little from time to time. Wonderful place to visit if you haven't been there. Loyal and entertaining commenter here on Ramblings Of A Madman, as well.

Sparkling Red at No More Casual Nonchalance
A blog that I feel has grown a lot of late, and she will always keep your eyes glued to the screen as you read about her parents divorce and the trials and tribulations of every day life. Another one of those whose comments on my blog always makes me happy.

And, I was also given this award from Jen over at Tales From A Texaconsin Diva. Actually, she said that those of us who continually comment and read her blog were all deserving of the award, and that it was there for the taking... so I took it. Thanks, Jen! It's always a pleasure to read your blog.

So, I won't really be passing this one along either. I will let you know, though, that if you are a loyal commenter, and you feel that you DO make my day (which all of you loyal commenters do) - well, then you're welcome to flaunt this award on your sidebar - or wherever you prefer showing off your trophy case. My blog would be nothing without all of you!

Finally. Don't forget about the Picture Fiction Challenge, which is due on the 20th of February. You have until the 23rd to post your story... but it is recommended you get it posted on the 20th, so that we all have ample time to get on over to your blogs and read what you've come up with. I'm just so excited to see what you make from the pictures, and what direction your stories have taken.

Click the picture to refresh your memories, and look at the pictures for this month's challenge.

Tomorrow is "Funday Sunday" which took a break last Sunday on account of the monthly feature "3rd". I don't yet know what I'll post to tickle your funny bones - but hopefully I'll come up with something hilarious.

WWC / Biggest Heart

Busy busy week, and the Weekly Words Challenge is upon us once again. As you all well should know by know it is Blogville's own birthday girl Tink of Pickled Beef who is hosting the WWC on a weekly basis. Get on over there and honk your horn in honor of her big day!

For this week she chose the words PRIDE and CIRCLE, and I must admit I had to shoot some pics in desparation to make it this week. Sorry about that - but I will not give up!

Before we begin showing off our pictures... let me announce that I have been given another award. I got me a nice "Biggest Heart" award from the very interesting Odd Facts... if ever you are in need of some (well...) Odd Facts - that is the place to check out. Very peculiar little factoids are presented over at her place.

The toughest part about recieving an award is passing it on. But, after some serious thought (and many tears for those I had to leave behind) I have decided to pass this on to three wonderful bloggers.

Tequila Mockingbird, for being such a loyal commenter in December - and because behind that rough exterior... I'm sure she does have a big heart!

Dana and TT, for being so supportive and knowing how to cheer a guy up when he's feeling down.

Many more of you deserve this award... may you know that you're in my thoughts!

So! Let's get down to the nitty gritty... that being the WWC!

For those that missed my post yesterday... do check out the brand new challenge (Picture Fiction Challenge) I am going to host. That post is just an example, and I was mighty surprised and very very pleased to see that so many were willing to participate in this challenge. Keep those opinions coming!

Until next time - Ta-taa!

WWC / Golden Spork Award

Welcome to another Tuesday - to another day of the Weekly Words Challenge, in which we post pictures that have been inspired by two words that were chosen for us by the Queen of Shiny Utensils, Tink of Pickled Beef.

The two words she has decided on for this weeks challenge were SOFT and SQUARE. Soon enough I will present my pictures of the week - so soon, in fact, that you will find them further down in this very post.

It has become a bit of a tradition with me on WWC day, that I go on rambling about any old thing before I bring on the pictures, and today I have a very special announcement to make.

Tink is the lady in the spotlight today. Not only did she give me the words to play with this week - she also handed me this very nice and useful award. Well, all we really had to do was comment on her blog, and we were awarded this one - but none the less, she made me feel special when she handed this here sweet award to me. She categorized the awards, and mine was for:

"Savory" Spork Award
(Best all around. I can't go a day without checking these blogs.)

Thank you so much, Tink! I appreciate this very much!

Well, lets get on with the Weekly Words Challenge! Here are my pics:

So, that concludes this weekly edition of the Weekly Words Challenge. The words for next week will be ENVY and TRIANGLE.

And... for those who missed out yesterday. I'm still open for questions in the post below. Keep'em coming. I will answer them all tomorrow.

(Please, post your questions in the comments for that post - I will not be answering questions posted in response to the WWC post.)

Have a wonderful Tuesday y'all!

Major Award / Big Project

I'm on a roll here!

I've received my third award in just over a week... which proves one thing. When it rains - it pours! (Didn't I use that comment recently?)

This is the second award awarded me by the fun and crazy Jay Cam of Jay's World. He's got one of the craziest blogs I've seen, and often makes me chuckle like Santa Claus on Christmas night.

I like the look of this award... I'd like a lamp just like it. I'd put it right next to my bed on the nightstand there...

I've been doing some thinking as to whom I should pass this award on to... which was indeed a difficult process. So many of you are here, commenting on my blogs. So many of you I do my utmost to read every day if possible - which is hard now as the Holiday Season's are drawing nearer by the hour.

I've decided on three people who have been frequenting this place almost since the very beginning, and whose blogs I've been frequenting since I first ventured into the world of blogging myself. It felt like the right approach, and is why I will give the award to the following people:

Note: If you weren't awarded - that does NOT mean you are not deserving of one... I just can't hand it out to everyone, now can I?

1. Guilty Secret (Guilty Secret)
One of my must read blogs, this one! If you haven't caught up on the story of Guilty Secret and her drug-dealing boyfriend (Baddie), then you've missed out on a wonderfully honest and deeply personal blog that never fails to leave me breathless after reading it.

2. Sports, Soaps, and a Wandering Mind (Samantha K.)
Sweet, funny and deliciously flirtatious. Samantha K. over at Sports, Soaps, and a Wandering Mind runs an excellent blog, where we are invited to follow her budding romance with the UPS man (why I didn't take up a job delivering packages is beyond me). She's been around here from the early stages, and has often found a way to make me feel good when I'm down.

3. Pickled Beef (Tink)
Queen of the Weekly Words Challenge, and provider of increasingly challenging words for us who participate in the WWC to play with. Tink's got a wonderful blog, in which you should really look for her "Daily Conversation" snippets. I love them, because she seems like such a fun and easy going person, while she still has a heart of gold.

Take heart of this award, and know that I appreciate your contribution in the blogging community.

On to other things...

I was originally thinking of posting a massive blog for today. There's something I've been meaning to do for a while, but haven't been entirely sure on how I would approach it.

For those of you who've been around awhile - did you think I'd forgotten all about The One? I haven't been posting about her for quite some time... except for briefly mentioning her every once in a while. Well, for one - there hasn't been much to write about on the subject, because I haven't had the pleasure of spending any time with her. I still long for her, but I think being apart for a while has helped me gain some composure, as I was really beginning to fall apart before.

I remember you people unanimously voting "forget about her/you deserve better", and you will probably remember me being all ignorant of that sort of advice (albeit good, I'll admit).

Well... I've wanted to make things a little clearer. Since I started blogging, I just kind of jumped right in on the story, and it so happened that just when my blog went into the virtual world, things in the real world exploded in my face. I was never really given a chance to think things through, and I believe that showed in the posts I made.

Because of this, I have decided to start a new blogging "series". A novella, self biography or whatever the hell you want to call it. This thing will serve two purposes:

a) It will take you readers right down to the deepest core of what has happened, and why these things have happened. Right from the very start (long before The One came into the picture)

b) It will serve as an outlet for me to deal with issues that have seriously damaged my mental well being, and I will hope that not only writing it down will make me see things in a different way, but also load a big weight off my chest. Your comments along the way will also hopefully serve as a healing aid.

(Boy! Am I getting all sentimental here)

Because these will likely be long reads, I have decided to give you people an option here. Do I incorporate this project into the blog we have here... the "Ramblings Of A Madman" blog? Or, do I start a brand new blog where I post this... blogography, so those who are not interested in listening to me whine are spared these posts?

In order to make a decision, maybe you need the following information.

  • I do not intend to post this more than once a week (depending on how much time I can find to write them)
  • Posts are likely to be quite long - much like a short chapter in a book, so grab a cup of hot cocoa, sit back and relax.
  • It will be a sequential read. To fully understand it is likely you have to read them all.
  • While much of it will be sentimental and dark, I will incorporate some humor into it so we don't all end up committing group suicide. This humor, is likely to be dark, though.
  • It will be honest and I will not shy away from detail that maybe I feel uncomfortable sharing.
  • It will be 100% non-fiction, and a true reflection of my experiences and my mind.
  • If posted here, it will not change anything about how I've done things here until now.

There are 4 ways in which I can do this.

1. Post here on Rambling Madman whenever I feel like it.

2. Post here on Rambling Madman once a week (weekly feature)

3. Post here on Rambling Madman bi-weekly (every two weeks, giving me more time to write it real good)

Bits'n'Pieces

Yesterday I told you guys about what a Heavy Metal hair I had until recently. Heavy Metal hair, for those who do not know it, is long fucking hair of equal length front and back of head. It was actually quite a bit longer than it looks in that picture. The hair that peeks out over my left shoulder comes from all the way in the back and sort of rests there... like a snake.

I sort of mentioned to Jay in a comment also, that I would look up a picture of me with that long fucking hair still attached to my skull - and after browsing my archives I decided on this one. I'm not on many of my pictures myself - reason being I'm usually behind the camera when I take pictures.

So, I couldn't find one where I had my hair down and wild (I rarely had it like that - most of the time it was in a ponytail like on the picture). Whenever I let my hair out and started headbanging at parties, all my friends knew I was miles and miles from Sobriety Road.

This picture was taken at one of my weekly poker nights I used to host every Saturday. Poker night is becoming a rarity these days, which bugs me - because I really enjoy them. See my cool shades? I don't think I'm as cool as I look - those are just some old sun-glasses I found laying around when I first started playing poker, and thought they were required paraphernalia at a poker table. These days they remain on my head (contrary to the hair) on account of being my lucky charm... charming or not ;)

Aaand... so we move on.

Back into society today. Yes! Finally I've freed myself from the confines of my bed, where I was sentenced, by unknown forces of evil, to spend a full week feeling sorry for myself. I am finally beginning to function normally, and the bad ass cold is subsiding into nothing more than a sniffle and the occasional cough.

Back into the world, where I began serving another sentence. A far more severe punishment indeed, by unknown forces of even greater evil.

Some of you, who have been around reading my ramblings for a while, will remember me speaking of how horrified and shocked I was to learn that a certain woman would be transferred to our store in replacement of my dear and beloved The One. This was one woman who's presence I could not stand.

She started working at our store on the 1st of December, but since I haven't worked this week on account of me being sick and all, I've been spared the displeasure of working in her presence until today.

Things could've been worse. I managed to stay away from her most of the time, but there were things that bugged me. The woman is handed a management position (she's not the boss, but like an understudy to the boss), and she doesn't know anything about anything. Still, she does everything as if she knew everything - resulting in a lot of shit for me to rectify because of her wrong doings. Today she sold items that we were not allowed to sell, just to name one thing. (Too long a story to explain why we can't sell these items).

My schedule is very similar to hers... Yippee! Right?

Hell, no! I'll be working with her almost every day... Really gotta get me a new job. Or, maybe, she could have a terrible accident in the storage room...

I'll be giving her a chance though. I'm not going to be very tolerant, but I'll be giving her a chance just the same. She didn't make progress to get on my good side today, but she didn't push herself closer to the edge either. My opinion of her remains the same... which is very low.

Wanna move on to more cheerful things?

Okeydokey...

I've been handed yet another award! That's two awards in two days, that gives me an average award ratio of one every single day. Keep that up and I'll have to buy my own server to store the image files in. Hehe... ;)

This one was awarded me by the entertaining (and even crazier than me) Jay Cam over at Jay's World. Thanks, man!

This is what the award symbolizes:

"It's actually for the people who you think deserve an award for their amazing friendship. However, there are no awards out there that can fully express this...
So just give them NO AWARD!"

So, that was a little bit of this, and a little bit of that to give you some reading on this cold Saturday. Tomorrow I'll be back to offer you another Funday Sunday.

Take care y'all!

Apparently: I ROCK!

Let me begin by expressing my delight and appreciation to Guilty Secret for awarding me my very first award! Thank you, that really brightened up my day! She deserves a ton of awards herself, for the honest and fascinating story she's blogging over at her place. If you haven't read up on her story - do it! You'll not regret paying her a visit.

This was her motivation for giving me this award:

REH has only been blogging two months, but he's being doing a damn good job of it so far. His posts are interesting and entertaining and he deserves the loyal readership he has already built up.

So... apparently - I Rock!

I cut my hair off a while back, so my victory head-banging is not as wild and impressive as it used to be when a thick mane of hair would violently thrash about as my head was thrown back and forth, my upper body slightly bent forward and one foot in front of the other to keep from falling over. Picture me doing this, with one arm held aloft, pumping upward, fist clenched with my index and pinky fingers reaching out - all in the name of rock'n'roll!

Picture me wearing my torn, washed out jeans. An over-sized metal studded belt, and throw in some chains as well. I've got my Twisted Sister T-Shirt on, and on top of that is my equally washed out jeans jacket with cut off sleeves, and about two hundred patches sown onto it, making me look like an advertising board for every heavy metal band that existed back in the good old 80's.

And... I'm screaming at the top of my lungs:

"I wanna ROCK! And fuck you world if you don't understand how much I LOOOOOVE ROCK AND ROLL!"

Yeah, we were like that. But, if you look at it - being a rock'n'roller, a metal-head... it was all about having some good ol' fun (read: ROCK!)... and about the babes, of course. We loved the chicks... and to this day still, I find it extremely sexy when a girl dresses up in a sleeveless top and a pair of torn up jeans. Make sure there is a rip on the back, just below one of your buttocks, revealing just enough of a tight round ass to tease me.

Aaah... the good ol' 80's!

Seems I kind of drifted from my topic there for a while. Uhm... see... YES! I was given the 'Rockin' Guy Blogger' award. It is one that should be passed on to others as well, and I have decided on three Rockin' Dudes who deserve it. I will present them in alphabetical order, so as not to offend anyone who thinks "why was I third choice dude? I should be number ONE!".

1. Cynical Bastard
Jay over at Cynical Bastard. I was thinking to myself that I should hand this award on to people who not only entertain me with their blogging, but bloggers who really do ROCK! as well - which means they have to be fans of Rock'N'Roll.

Jay! You rock! I didn't really know that until that letter to 13 year old you, where you talked about the Rolling Stones and mentioned the fact that AC/DC still rocks! So, to commend you on your always entertaining blogs, I hereby present you the Rockin' Guy Blogger Award.

2. Man Overboard
Not too long ago, you posted a video of Twisted Sister's "I Wanna Rock!".... well, almost anyway - it was a Spongebob version. Anyway - the following really made this a clear cut decision:

Excerpt from a Man Overboard blog:
It should be noted that for some time now I have had my daughters trained in the following:
me- “I wanna rock!”
them- “Rock!”
us- “do-do-do-do-do, do-do-do-do-do, I want to rock, rock”

Dude. You ROCK!

3. Your Friendly Neighborhood RockDog
It's all in the title of his blog right? RockDog, isn't it obvious that the guy Rocks? And, he's got a thing for scantily clad women which goes a long way towards getting my attention. With a wicked sense of humor and no-holds-barred wit, the RockDog is sure to entertain every time you walk into his space in Blogville.

You know it already, champ... but, take it from me - You Rock!

-----------------

To top things off for today, I leave you with some good ol' heavy metal to feast upon. Courtesy of Helix: "Rock You!". And with that, my promise that I will continue to Rock You readers... to the best of my ability!

And, guys - if you're not into the heavy metal scene... there are bare naked titties in this video!
