WWC / Excellent Award

Well, now that the Easter holiday has come to an end - let's get back to blogging a bit, shall we? And, what better way to do so than play a little Weekly Words Challenge?

As always - the booby trapping, Tink of Pickled Beef is the one to select a couple of words for us to take pictures of... and this week we got TREASURE and JUNK to play with.

I hope you all had a wonderful Easter, and that you weren't assaulted by the Easter Bunny. I hope you all got the opportunity to eat bucket loads of colorful eggs and truck loads of delicious foods. I know I did. I think I've finished up about a week's worth of food rations during the past three days. Believe me - that won't keep me from eating the rest of the week either.

And, I've been given another award! This time it is the awesome, soon-to-be famous(?), actress ~Angela~ of ~Angelaboration~ who's been kind enough to honor me with this Excellent Award!

Thank you! I will cherish this thing, and proudly display it in my Trophy Case.

I have decided on three bloggers that I will pass this thing on to. As always - so many more are deserving of it. The reason I settle for three is because I have a thing about "three's". Farmer's Wife will understand that particular obsession as she shares that one with me ;)

Cardiogirl of Cardiogirl: 19% body fat 100% fun
Writing about her struggles with depression, and her outlook on life in general - the Cardiogirl is always a very interesting read. Few bloggers I've come across are so open and honest about what they write, and you really feel like you get to take part of her daily life. That is what makes her blog Excellent!

Jo of Whatever...
Artsy and wonderfully creative. Jo offers Excellent writing, photography and interesting blog posts that always entertain. She's wonderfully warm and loving, and always puts a smile on my face. I always look forward to reading her when she updates... and she lives out in sunny California - which makes me jealous ;)

Single In The City of You Say Tomato ~ I Say Tomahto
Now here's a girl who always makes me feel good. Her innocent charmful teasing, and daily updates over at her blog is something I always look forward to. She has a way of spreading the love and the "feel good" wherever she is. And for that she is Excellent!

For those of you who didn't get an award from me this time... don't fret - You might me next!

Now, on to this weeks WWC:

Hope you enjoyed!

Tink is on vacation, but hopefully she will post her WWC today anyway - and announce the words for next week. I will update this post once she provides the words.

UPDATE: Ok, Tink has returned and the words for next week will be SHINY and ERA. That should prove interesting! Until then...

Great pics! I am amazed by what people have been coming up with!

I know a few cars I'd like to see like that. OK well just one....

Knight said...

Love the junk car photos and the texture on the treasure map is really interesting. I effing hate the snow as well.

Dana said...

If it makes you feel any better, we've got snow in the forcast this week too :( I am so ready for spring!

Leighann said...

Okay that creepy gated "cave" looks like it came right out of a horror flick, I love it LOL

Congrats on the award!

Poop! I forgot about WWC. I've got some good treasure shots [live with two of them ;)]

Good pics! I love snow, just not being wet and cold.

How come the word three, has four letters in it...odd.

R.E.H. said...

Butterfly Girl: Those were some interesting words we had this week - I still didn't get around to do the shots I wanted... much on account of that darn snow!

Knight: Thanks. The car I saw when I went to that McDonald's for a quick eat. The treasure map is on wood.

Dana: Thanks for trying - but it doesn't make me feel better. The only thing that would work right now is warm weather, and half naked women strutting their stuff in said weather...

Leighann: It might interest you to know that is an archive pic, from when I was checking out locations to shoot an actual horror movie... sadly - the project is dead.

R.E.H. said...

Farmer's Wife: You better hurry up posting the WWC then! ;)

The word three is spelled with 3 letters in Swedish, in case you wanted to know.... "Tre"

Tink said...

Hand over that treasure map! Arg.

What in the world happened to that car? I hope there was no one in it at the time. Great pictures as usual REH. I'll have the new words up soon.

Anonymous said...

That torched up car looks pretty awful. That Chinese balls looks quite heavy :)

Knight said...

It didn't go unnoticed that you took photos of the junker in front of the junk food Mc'D's.

Jay said...

I don't think I would go into that cave without a gun! haha

Excellent job on the words as usual dude. That car didn't get burned in a riot did it?

Casdok said...

I noticed the Mc Ds too!!

g-man said...

Congrats on the award.

Excellent as usual. Casino treasure hunt is a good one. IN the cave are those shelves from Ikea? :)

Fortune Cookies said...

Holy crap! I hope that wasn't your car! Great pix. good times. I don't know why you hate the snow, I love it so. Send me some, I never get to see that much.

Elle said...

Okay, can't see the pics either... curse you, ancient Internet Explorer!

Farmer*swife a/k/a Glass_Half_Full said...

Hey? When do we get the new pics for the next PFC? [naggity-nag...do I drive you batty? All needy and wanting?]

Lator Gator! I'll katchup with ya' later Tomato. Makin' like a tree and leaf...After Awhile Crocodile...

Okay, that's all I got.

Anonymous said...

Thank You Boo!! I am glad that you really like my blog, your overview of it made me Blush as if I was really on stage getting my award infront of people! LOL!!!

I want some more snow! Your pick of that Drain/cave looked Kinda like the one on Stephen Kings IT!!! Stay away from there!!

Be good!
Smooches

Leighann said...

That is sad! I'd like to know more about that project. Is that something you may blog about someday? Or perhaps already have before my time as a reader?

Anonymous said...

A junked car in front of McD's...at first I thought it was from the riots I saw on TV today (before I remembered it was a "stupid people" show so of course not!!) but oh, what a way to ruin someone's day. You were way braver than I to photograph your own junk. Me, I stuck with the "star wars club hose"--it was safer that way!

R.E.H. said...

Tink: From what I heard, there was a bit of a riot at the gas-station next to McDonald's on Saturday night. Some hooligans apparently decided to torch that car... I don't know if it was an act of revenge, or just random destruction - no one was inside at the time though...

Joel: Yeah, that car's beyond repair... and the chinese balls are for relaxation... you sort of swirl them around in your hand and it is supposed to make you calm and put your mind at ease.

Knight: Yeah, when I took that picture I meant to include that in the caption... something like "JUNK car in front of JUNK food"...

Jay: Hehe... that cave is an old mine shaft. Lots of interesting stuff down there... but easy to get lost, or hurt from falling somewhere.

The car was in fact burned in what could be described as a "minor riot".

Casdok: McDonald's is JUNK food that I eat... not necessarily because I like it ;)

Jen said...

someone must've really hated that car.

Me? I've got no . . . . errr . . . um . . . . junk in my house. No way. Never. Uh-nu - none at all whatsoever. . . .

Which means, you definitely will not be getting a picture of it.

So there.

R.E.H. said...

G-Man: Yeah, so far I haven't had much luck in that casino...

Those shelves are not likely to be from IKEA. I'm pretty sure they've been down there since WWII, when these old mines were used as a munitions factory.

Fortune Cookies: Had that been my car, I would've been out on a killing spree by now ;)

You can have ALL the snow I get... I don't want any of it!

Elle: Darn! An IE update may be in order, yes?

Farmer's Wife: I've been planning to put up the next challenge on Friday this week.

Single In The City: Hehe... well you deserved the award - and thanks for making my day every day!

Glad the gate picture looks scary to most people... I still want to use that location for a horror movie some day.

R.E.H. said...

Leighann: That is something I might blog about some day. In fact - a similar thing was suggested in that poll I ran on blog topics... "The Unfinished Short Horror Film". Not the same - but closely related to that entrance.

Kcinnova: I can only imagine how pissed whoever owns that car was when he saw what had been done to it.

And, I'm proud of my junk! No, seriously - I've been meaning to ship it off to the junk yard for ages... just haven't got to it yet.

Jen: Oh, don't you try, girl. Everyone's got some junk stashed somewhere. Stuff that we just don't have the heart to get rid of, or are too lazy to get rid of.

It's human nature, no? ;)

Great pictures. Love the car one especially. Someone did that on purpose to the car??

Em

Newt said...

Very nice job! Ya know I confessed to stalking people for good WWC shots but come on mad man, did you really need to torch a car for it? - j/k - though I would almost be impressed at the extent you would go to.

Reb said...

Great photos! I love the mine shaft and the burned out car.

Elle, (or all of you) download Mozilla Firefox for free - works much better than IE ever has on any computer I have worked on.

Cool pics REH! That's wild about the car. Makes me think...the other night, I was outside having a smoke and there was a police heli flying around. I guess they saw me and lit me up with the spot light. Realized I was not their "treasure" and went on their way. Hmmmm...That was interesting.

Anonymous said...

REH, you are much, much too kind. Thank you, this is just what I needed. I'm going to try to crack out of my shell of isolation and check out the other recipients as well.

Thank you again.

Anonymous said...

p.s. In regard to the question: how pissed would you be if someone did this to you?

Hoppin' mad, extremely pissed, inconsolable. Oh I would be so angry. Grrrr!

Sparkling Red said...

Dude, where's my car? Aw, dang, it's on fire in the McDonald's parking lot. Bummer!!

Congrats on your award! You'll need to get a bigger trophy case soon, at this rate. ;-)

Spiky Zora Jones said...

hey babes, I wouldn't use the valet parking service at that Mickey D's...unless you feel lucky.

Ciao babes

Leighann said...

Well, I for one would certainly be interested in hearing that story! If you decide NOT to blog about it, email it to me LOL

Hey I need to send you something to look over... I need the writers approval first!

You can send you email, to Singlendacity89@gmail.com

Single's got me all curious...and nosey...maybe jealously left out? LOL!!!

She need ya' to proof read her school assignment?

Hmmmm, y'all are gonna' share with the rest of us right?

Welp. This is numero Tre (Tres). Gotta' feed the munchkin's and all.

R.E.H. said...

Emmeline: Yup, someone did that on purpose - it gets rowdy around these parts sometimes ;)

Newt: I didn't think anyone was gonna figure that out... ah, well - I got a good shot out of it though?

Excuse me... I think the police are at my door... shhh!

Reb: Thanks, and welcome!

I've thought about getting Firefox myself, but I'm actually quite pleased with IE... and I used to hate it - I was an avid Netscape user, but lately that doesn't work very well.

Pookie Sixx: That's got to be a weird experience... heading out for a smoke and all of a sudden you're standing in the spotlight of a police helicopter. Cool!

Cardiogirl (x2): You are welcome, and you deserve the award for sure. Keep it up!

Sounds you and I would have similar reactions to having our cars torched...

R.E.H. said...

Sparkling Red: Imagine sitting in there, comfortably munching away on a Quarter Pounder, only to look out the window and see your car on fire!

Yeah, I'm gonna need a bigger trophy case ;)

Spiky Zora Jones: Ha! I guess if a McDonald's had a parking service it would be quite likely your car goes up in flames ;)

Leighann: I'm pretty sure I'll be blogging about it when the opportunity is right.

Single In The City: Flattering... I'll look into it.

Farmer's Wife: Aw, don't be jealous... uhm... is it a school project?

Dianne said...

congrats on the award and bravo on your choices of who to pass it on to!

I really liked the "is there treasure in here" and then "nah, just junk" -

great job!

R.E.H. said...

Dianne: Thanks... I was hoping someone would appreciate the "treasure... nah, junk" part ;)

And thanks for commemorating the award choices.

Hmmm, Is it a school project or a bedroom project????? Would like to know eh??? LOL!!!!

I got it and I sent it!!!!

Dangit!! Why do you guys get all the snow?? I got my one-and-only snow for this year I guess, but one could only hope... We're mild and having windy March springish weather here in Memph-o.

WELL PLAYED! I enjoyed your photos. Don't you love the slideshow?? It's so convenient and you can put more photos in with ease. The car thing was cool, although yeah I'd be pissed.

Love the junk ones!

Farmer*swife a/k/a Glass_Half_Full said...

Ugh! So y'all are driving me nutty. I forgot about "it" and then dropped in before my bath [in the Queen of Sheba tub] and before my show [Big Brother, I know...] comes on...

And, now? I want it. I wanna' get it... Send it to MEEeeee...too, please.

[Exiting bloggie world head down and left out and, maybe a tiny bit...jealous. Just a teeny-tiny-whitie bit.]

Your pics were fun this week...the car--WTF? Bad break-up? My favorite is your storage--have you ever been to a prison in the Philipines? I'm sure it's just like that LOL

I could kiss you for the award, thank you!!! You really made me smile today :))) And seriously, if you do come to L.A., I'll look out for you & share my pepperspray, I have loads.

Sweden is shut out of the top three in the "World's Best Burnt Up Car" competition.

1st Place: Iraq.

Also won for least pieces found.

2nd Place: Afghanistan.

Also won for best use of rocket propelled grenades.

3rd Place: Somalia.

Also won for most bullet holes.

4th Place: Sweden.

Honorable mention for least collateral damage.

You guys need to try harder!

Chatty said...

casino - wonderful. Torched car - priceless!

R.E.H. said...

Single In The City: I'm hoping for the latter ;)

Aunt Jackie: Snow is cold, wet and dirty... why would you want that? ;)

Do love the slideshow. And it's so easy to set up it's almost embarrassing.

Farmer's Wife: Sorry... don't want to make you feel left out.

Jo: Ha! Thanks for comparing my storage to a Philippines prison cell ;) But, yeah - it does look a bit like I'd imagine.

Pepperspray! Thanks. You're not going to spray me with it, I hope ;)

Unsigned: Are those actual stats? Sweden is 4th? That does surprise me... it's the first ever torched car I've come across. Well, I did torch a couple a few years back - but that was for a movie...

Chatty: Wouldn't it be ironic to win $10.000 at a casino, only to walk outside and find your car like that?

Elle said...

got home and got to see the pics. YAY. Was the car a reaction to a Big Mac gone wrong? Oh, and re: IE update, is not my call, or I'd have torched the computer and left in a Mickey D's parking lot looooong ago.

It's Wednesday!! One and a half more days until Friday -- New PFC!!

[Typically, I'm not a fan of Wednesdays. But, today I thought I'd enjoy the day.]

Well off I go! Happy Day!

{exiting mubling to myself, "Shiny and Era??? That sounds hard."}

Tequila Mockingbird said...

dude, you and i need to hit the casino. i'll wear a tacky sequinned cocktail dress and feather boa, and you can smoke a cigar and wear a crushed blue velvet tux.

R.E.H. said...

Elle: From what I've heard, it was just some asshole kids who thought it would be fun to burn a car... if you decide to torch your computer, though, be sure to take a picture of it ;)

Farmer's Wife: Yeah, on Friday the new PFC will be announced. Can't wait to put that together... I'm hoping we'll get some good pictures to work with this time! (No friggin' tigers!)

Tequila Mockingbird: Sounds like a plan... will you still love me if I lose all my money?

Farmer*swife a/k/a Glass_Half_Full said...

Hey...I liked the tigers. And, the M&Ms. Not so crazy about the old couple on the beach -- but then again? I'll be there one day.

So, anyhow. My faith is in you and the luck of the draw.

3x2 = addicted to you!

After 5 tries.. I finally see the pictures.

Are those big ben-wahs??

The cave creeped me out...

R.E.H. said...

Farmer's Wife: Lame joke: Since I'm addictive... if I were a female - I'd be a Heroin! (hardy-har)

Let's hope for the luck of the draw!

Anndi: LOL! I had to look up ben-wahs since I had no idea what that is ;)

I'm so happy everyone is creeped out by the mine gate...
