Funday Sunday: "Zombie Baby"

Oh, dear!

I couldn't withhold this one any longer. This scene is from one of the funniest movies ever made... no question about that! And, which movie is that?, you ask. Well, the answer to that would be Brain Dead, aka Dead Alive, which really was the break through movie for Peter Jackson. Yes! That same Peter Jackson who brought us the Lord Of The Rings trilogy, and the remake of King Kong.

For those unfortunate enough to have missed this brilliant and completely whacked movie, I will just give you a little introduction to the scene. I won't go into great detail (watch the whole film if you haven't seen it. I guarantee you will laugh your socks right off!).

Lionel, our main character, has found a baby zombie. Yes, you read that right - that's a zombified infant child. Now, Lionel is a nice guy, you know... so of course he decides to take the child down to the park in a stroller. This is (as if you couldn't have guessed) a recipe for disaster... especially when you know jack-all about taking care of babies.

Now... this is not a scene for the faint of heart. I don't know why I offer a warning here - but some people seem to have a problem with these kinds of things... blood and gore (which however is not present in this clip), and violent behaviour towards cute little (zombie) toddlers.

Darn it! Take it for what it is... pure entertainment! Enjoy!

Oh... only three more days to go on the Picture Fiction Challenge. Wednesday is when you should post your contribution... but you do have until the 23rd to make the deadline if you're short on time. Don't know what this is? Need to refresh you memory? Take a look right HERE.

Until next time...

Awesome funday Sunday clip! Love anything to do with zombies. I will have to check the whole movie out. Tonight though a friend of mine Margo and I are going to be checking out the movie "Jumpers". I really wanted to see "Strange Wilderness". But what the hell are you going to do.

I leave Rochester tomorrow morning. So if I am MIA for a couple of weeks. You know why. Although I am sure my folks still have an internet connection. We will see how things go.

Good luck with everything else in the meantime.

HoosierGirl5: I DO have a strange sense of humor ;)

I absolutely love horror comedies of this sort (way too few of them have been made). I think of them as a non-cartoon version of Tom & Jerry... only with more blood and gore!

Beautifully Profound: Wow! I didn't think you were a zombie-lovin' gal! Glad to hear it!

And, you definitely have to see this one. It's really good!

Good luck with everything. I bet you got a butterfly farm going on in your belly now, huh?

Odd Facts: Yes you do! And, that's not even the funniest scene... I just decided on this one as it offered the least amount of blood and gore ;)

Didn't want to scare my readers away ;)

Not really to see my parents. I don't get nervous about the folks. I will be uber nervous when I leave for Australia on the 3rd though. Mik wants me to see if I can find something over the counter for my nerves. I'm such a scared-y cat.

There's nothing like some good slapstick on a Sunday afternoon! This reminds me of Army of Darkness, my personal silly favourite.

Enjoy your days off!

Jay Cam: I honestly don't know what I would do if I came across a baby like that... I mean - what if you can save it somehow?

...or I'll do the blender thing (which, although not for the baby, is also in the mix - see that pun? - in this movie)

Beautifully Profound: So you are returning [to your old] home after visiting the parents and before leaving for Australia?

No More Empty Fortune Cookies: You love horror comedies, but never heard of this one? You're in for a treat. This one is only matched by the fantastic Sam Raimi "Evil Dead" movies. Only... this is about ten times gorier!

Tequila Mockingbird: That's what makes them zombies, you know. Just give them a piece of your mind ;)

Jill: The whole movie is like that. It gets even crazier than that. Imagine a priest at church saying "I kick ass for the Lord!", and then going Kung Fu on a bunch of zombies!

Single In The City: Sorry, I don't really get what it is you didn't get, hehe.

Are you saying you didn't get what was funny? In that case... you and I need to get together so I can introduce you to the world of hilarious gory comedies.

You did, after all, enjoy Lord of the Rings - so your taste in movies is already refined.

Sparkling Red: Army of Darkness is outstanding as well. I do like the second Evil Dead movie the most though... if you like those - this is without doubt a MUST see!

Casdok: You won't regret it! (I'm surprised none of you all have seen this one - it's a cult classic already!)

That baby thing is UGLY.

Oookay. Goofy baby zombie, don't know if I could sit thru the entire movie.

Dianne said...

I want me a baby zombie!

Real Live Lesbian said...

Precisely why I don't want children. You just never know if they'll turn out to be zombies! ;)

Knight said...

No blood? What kind of zombie movie is this? My favorite part was the drunk cheering the guy when he punched the baby.

Leighann said...

LMFAO! That was awesome!

R.E.H. said...

Lakota Princess: Like it, huh?

Karen: Admit it! You just want to hold that baby close to you and kiss it all over.

Elle: You should try it - many good laughs!

Dianne: Now that comment outright scares me ;)

Real Live Lesbian: I wonder if the parents would really love their child if it came out looking like this one...

R.E.H. said...

Knight: Oh, don't you worry about the blood. This is officially the bloodiest film that has ever been made. Those three minutes are just about the only three minutes without blood and gore. I chose it not to scare my readers to death... or so they would not deem me certifiable.

Leighann: Yeah - it is awesome. And there are even better scenes in the movie. Hey! It's even got zombie sex! (Where'd you think the baby came from?)

Jill said...

It is American? Cuz I need to see that movie now!! Damn you!

R.E.H. said...

Jill: It was filmed in New Zealand... Peter Jackson's native country. Low budget - but it is apparent why they chose him to do the Lord of the Rings trilogy.

Leighann said...

Zombie sex.... that kinda creeps me out believe it or not!

R.E.H. said...

Leighann: I'm surprised anything gets under your skin ;)

Leighann said...

I said it kinda creeped me out, I didn't say I couldn't learn to love it!

BAHAHAHA!

Leighann: Now, that's my girl ;)
