Come... take a ride with me.

There are still available seats. The doors are open, so hop on in and join me on this journey. Be sure you fasten your seat-belts. Once I put the keys into the ignition and rev the engine there will be no turning back. I will back out of the parking lot and then we'll be full speed ahead, pedal to the metal. This will be a fast and furious ride, and if you have the stomach for it, you are welcome to tag along.

Are you ready? Ready to take a ride with me? I'm the driver here, and I don't appreciate backseat drivers. I will choose which roads we travel, and I will decide when to stop for a bite to eat or take a leak along the side of the road. If you're car sick, you better stick your head out the window as far as humanly possible, because I will not tolerate any vomit on my precious car. If you need to break wind - better pop your ass way out the window too, because I don't need the vile smell of your farting.

If you come along - this is where we're going:

We're taking a ride down Highway 2008. A cross-country journey to see everything that we will pass by as we drive through the nights and days of the year ahead of us. I'm sure it will not be a disappointing trip to take - and the more of you who wish to join me... the merrier!

While I have no idea what we will encounter during this ride, there are a few pit-stops that I've already decided on... so this is what you can expect if you come along.

This blog - Ramblings Of A Madman - will (hopefully) continue to grow - both in terms of content and popularity. New things will happen here, as I develop a better understanding of what I myself want to get out of doing this blogging business. I do hope you all will stick around and see what happens in this part of Blogtown.

The Rubicon Heart story is going to be introduced and finalized during this year. It will be an opportunity to get to know me better, and understand my previous ramblings about The One, and why I cannot let her go.

A new feature has already been decided upon. A monthly feature that will be presented here on the 3rd of each month. I chose the 3rd because #3 is my lucky number - and it gives me a couple of days to compile this thing after the end of a month... you'll see in a couple of days what this little tidbit is all about. Your guess is a pretty good one if you're thinking it's got something to do with some sort of a month recap.

The Weekly Words Challenge and Funday Sunday are events that will continue for the foreseeable future. I have no intention of giving either one of these up. Speaking of which - there will be no WWC today, as I found that we have until tomorrow this week to post that. Tink is a very smart girl - I think she knew I'd be too darn hung over today to fiddle around with the camera! Pics will be posted tomorrow, though.

Lots of other things will happen here over the course of the New Year, but what that is I know no more than you people do. Fate and chance will be contributing factors to decide what will be posted on Ramblings Of A Madman during 2008.

So, sit back and enjoy the ride! Thanks for coming with me.

BTW... You guys are paying for gas, right?

PS. I've updated the blogroll as well. Sorry, but Google Reader makes me forget all about it! I hope I didn't miss anyone this time!

I hope you have some good tunes to play in the stereo while we're driving around. Like not too much country please. LOL

Gee, you make the ride sound so... inviting. How could I refuse?

Also, thanks for adding me to your Blogroll. :-)

Oh, count me in. And I'll chip in for gas don't worry. And I'll even pay for pie at the truck stops. Truck stop pie has got to be the best. I can't wait to see what ramblings we get in 2008.

Happy New Year!

I am SO on board for this trip. I love road trips as long as you don't mind that I bring a case of beer, some prono mags,..and, well, I have some wicked gas. Sorry about that in advance...

I call shotgun!
This is a convertible right?
Are you like that Rick guy that stopped by my blog and told me I had to dress "appropriately?"
Or can I wear only old thing my heart desires for this road trip?
Just checking so I don't get relegated to the trunk.

Jay: There will be some country... but mostly there will be rock and roll!

Sparkling Red: Glad to have you on board!

Newt: Truck stop pies! Yes, we'll have some of those.

Tequila Mockingbird: Well, that's up to you, sweetheart ;)

RockDog: Beer and Porno is required for the trip, so you bring it a plenty.

Ass out the window when wicked gas is passed!

Jay Cam: You better hang on tight up there!

Lakota Princess: I couldn't take the convertible, with Jay Cam riding on the roof...

For you... clothing is optional ;)

I'm with Jay, easy on the country. . . but do count me in. Just be sure to make a right at . . . and then a left when . . . .go backwards after. . . and turn around at the. . . .

Ha! You can take the backseat driver out of your blog but not the blog out of the backseat drive. Huh? ? ? what the hell did I just say? I swear I'm not drunk.

Anyway, it'll be a cool ride.

Sounds like the ride of a life time!

Tequila Mockingbird: Well, I'm good at multi-tasking ;)

Kell: Oh, good thinking! Just don't make a mess in the car with those chips ;)

Jen: Ha! You can take the backseat driver out of your blog but not the blog out of the backseat drive. Huh? ? ? what the hell did I just say? I swear I'm not drunk.

Somehow... I find that hard to believe ;)

Casdok: It will be. We'll have a blast!

Dana: And, I'm looking forward to your company!

I can pay for a tank or two... As long as you don't mind carrying all these quarters. :)

Happy New Years!

Sounds exciting to me! I followed you back from MPJs after reading your comment about it not being worth a retrospective since you've only been blogging since October, but that's when I started also ... and I found it interesting to retrace my posts on each of my blogs weekly rather than monthly. I did one with Monday posts and the other with Tuesday posts because that's when I published the 1st post on each. From the quick glance around here, I suspect you (and your readers) might be intrigued (or not). You certainly don't seem to have difficulty coming up with ideas to write about. I look forward to returning when time permits to read more. May 2008 be filled with peace, joy, and wonder!
Hugs and blessings,

Alli: Nice of you to think of our safety ;)

The answer to your Rubicon question will become apparent when I post the first installment of this autoblography - which I hope to do either this weekend or at the start of next week.

Tink: Much appreciated, quarters or bills - as long as it is money.

Storyteller: Thank you for stopping by.

I've considered doing the retrospective thing, but I'm full of ideas for the next few days, so by the time I'd get to it, people will have already forgot it's a New Year, and it would feel all out of date ;)

Do return. And have a great 2008!

I hope it is one hell of a ride, then!!
But promise we will all make it safely to the end!!

R.E.H. said...

Jill: I have every intention of making it 'til the end... we'll be wanting to go on another trip next year, right?

Jo said...

Is this a bus? Do you mind if I follow in my own car...you seem like a nice enough madman but no one controls my bladder, heck I barely control my bladder, so you lost me on the potty-break issue.

Is your "Rubicon Heart" story a reference to Caesar's coup?

R.E.H. said...

Jo: The vehicle can be anything you like it to be. If you want to follow in your own, be sure to keep up!

Rubicon Heart is a personal real-life love-story I am going to write here on my blog.
